Items We Cannot Take

For safety and regulatory reasons, the following materials require special disposal and are not accepted. If you are unsure, call and we will point you to the right resource.

  • Hazardous chemicals

Paints, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, and similar materials require special disposal handling.

  • Automotive fluids

Motor oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, and brake fluid are regulated waste.

  • Fuel and propane tanks

Gasoline, diesel, and pressurized propane tanks are not accepted. Empty tanks may be okay — call to confirm.

  • Asbestos-containing materials

Asbestos requires licensed abatement. If you suspect asbestos in your home (common in older homes), have it tested before any demolition.

  • Biohazard waste

Medical waste, sharps, and materials contaminated with blood or bodily fluids are not accepted.

  • Explosives and ammunition

    These require specific disposal channels.

  • Medical waste

Syringes, medication, and similar items require proper medical disposal.

This list covers the most common restrictions. For items not listed above, call (580) 375-6766 and describe what you have.

What Happens to Your Items After Pickup

Not everything goes straight to the landfill. When items are still usable — furniture in good condition, working appliances, usable household goods — we try to route them to donation partners when an option is available in the Lawton area. Recyclable materials such as metals and electronics are separated for proper recycling when possible.

If donation is not an option for your items, they are disposed of at a licensed facility. You do not need to sort anything before we arrive; just point out what stays and we handle the rest.
